Welcome everyone to the DSA PTO Blog! While the name may be confusing, do not be confused! This blog will not only cover PTO information, but it will have a host of other info related to the students and the wonderful strides we are taking as a school!
I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Anje Campbell and I am the new counselor here at Dove. I will admit that coming from a public school to a charter school was a little scary in the beginning. I, like many others, had some preconceived notions about what charter schools were about. The minute I stepped through the door all notions were erased and I began to experience the true joy of what Dove really is about…and that is the KIDS! It’s very refreshing to be in an environment where everyone’s main concern is the children and their success. I feel like it is important to point this out because as supporters of Dove it is so vital that our parents, students, and teachers continue to spread the word. The only way to dispel the negative thoughts that other people carry is to TELL them and SHOW them how wonderful we really are.
Our students are high achievers with big dreams and the beauty of Dove is that everyone in this building believes that. Our mission at Dove is “Every student has the potential for success; intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically”. This has never been more true! Every student does have the potential for success here and we want EVERYONE to know!
